Impact Times Three the W. Meredith and Helen B. Young Legacy

Mr. and Mrs. Young were well known throughout Frederick County. They both had long careers with Frederick County Bank and Mr. Young served as president from 1960 until his retirement in 1980. He then served as Chairman of the Board until 1987. They were both active community volunteers, serving and volunteering countless hours at many local nonprofits, as well as their church.
Through their estate, three funds were established: The W. Meredith S. Young and Helen B. Young Scholarship Fund, The Rotary Club of Frederick/W. Meredith S. Young and Helen B. Young Scholarship Fund, and The Meredith and Helen Young Facilities Enhancement and Preservation Fund. Two funds support post-secondary education, and the third supports the maintenance and preservation of buildings owned or acquired in the future by the Historical Society of Frederick County.
Mr. and Mrs. Young have definitely left behind a living legacy supporting education and preserving history. They will be remembered by many for their generosity and caring.
